Entrepreneur Jørgen Bak Rasmussen from Mediehuset Wiegaarden in Hobro acquired Rold Gl. Kro in 2020 with a vision: to create a haven where both two- and four-legged guests can relax, dine, and stay in comfort.

Nestled near the enchanting Rold Skov Forest, visitors can immerse themselves in the stunning North Jutland landscape before returning to unwind and enjoy delicious traditional inn fare.

But why a historic inn, Jørgen?
Owning and running an inn had always been a dream for Jørgen, and when the opportunity arose, he didn’t hesitate for a second. His motto has always been: "We sell three things: experiences, experiences, and experiences."

Rold Gl. Kro, located by Rold Skov Forest in North Jutland, is one of Denmark’s oldest inns. Jørgen had long had his eye on this historic gem. After circling the roundabout in front of the inn a few times, he took the plunge - adding a new title to his already impressive résumé: Innkeeper.

With passion and dedication, Jørgen aims to restore the royal chartered Rold Gl. Kro to its former glory, welcoming guests from near and far for an authentic inn experience just like in the old days.
